The anointing oil is a sacred instrument that God has made available to his children for consecration, empowerment and blessings. Christians can often wonder who can use anointing oil.
But as many as received him, to them gave them power to become The sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. John 1:12
That is why the first requirement or qualification for using the anointing oil is to be a born again disciple of Jesus Christ. At new birth, you also receive power to become a child of God and the power can be expressed in various ways to the glory of God including the anointing of by oil.

It must not be viewed as magic or a charm potion because there is no power in the oil. It is only God who has power to change anyone’s life and not the oil.
Who can use anointing oil?
Every born again child of God is qualified to use the anointing oil for results. That means if you are a believer in Christ Jesus, the power of God can function in your life through the application of the anointing oil.
Then David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed himself, and changed his apparel, and came into the house of the LORD, and worshipped: then he came to his own house; and when he required, they set bread before him, and he did eat. 2 Samuel 12:20
But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; Matthew 6:17
You can anoint yourself according to the above Scriptures. In 2 Samuel 12:20 we read about King David anointing himself, meaning that as believers we are also qualified to anoint ourselves with oil as and when it is needed.
Elders and leadership of your local church can also anoint with oil according to James 5:14.
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church;
and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil
in the name of the Lord: James 5:14
